When does Race Across America (RAAM) start & finish?

RAAM 2024 starts in June 2024 at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center in Oceanside, California and finishes ~9 days later at the City Dock in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

What will the

temperature be?

We're cycle through two deserts, with temperatures expected to go up to 50 °C/122 °F. 

How many people race RAAM every year?

Just finishing this harrowing race is a feat. Every year, fewer than 200 people finish within the allowable times. Racers can compete as solo riders, 2, 4, or 8-person teams. 

Towns & Cities

the race passes through time stations in 56 different towns and cities. The largest time station city is Indianapolis, Indiana. The smallest time station is Chiriaco Summit, California.

Elevation

This elevation range exceeds two vertical miles. Riders climb to 3309m (10,856 feet) above sea level (Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado). In Kansas, riders hit The Great Plains, 1000km (620 miles) with the flattest section of the course is 35km (22 miles). 

 

Latitude

The northernmost point is just outside Urbana, Ohio. The southernmost point is the starting point on the Oceanside Municipal Pier.
